Thank you for the Music!
Friday night, while driving amidst the slushy Western Pennsylvania snow/rain, I suddenly heard a choir of angels on my XM radio. Four of them by the names of Anni-Frid, Benny, Bjorn, and Agnetha (ABBA!!). Like some sort of loser-ish fan in an Oprah crowd or a little girl weeping for American Idol's Sanjaya, I became that weird creature you only see and pity on television, singing all of the words with near tears in my eyes. Thankfully, I was in the comfort and solitude of my Cobalt.
In honor of Mamma Mia! being released on DVD tomorrow, XM radio station 31 (Sirius 3) is playing all ABBA, all the time until December 20th. While I promised myself I would drag out the Christmas mixes this week, I find myself unable to change the dial when songs like this come on the radio.
Perhaps, XM will realize that ABBA should be included among other Artist-only stations like Bruce Springsteen and Led Zeppelin. I mean, come on -- it's ABBA. How can you resist THEM?
