Landon Pigg and commercial fame
I can't help myself. I really like the AT&T commercial with Landon Pigg's "Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" playing over the 30 second spot of a couple parting, texting, and then reuniting. Frankly, I get more romance out of this than a whole season of Grey's Anatomy as well as Pam and Jim on The Office.
A Diamond Is Forever also used this song in a commercial from 2007, but the scene of a woman and a man stopped at a red light kinda reminded me of the final scene in the dark and twisted Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
Landon Pigg appears to be the go-to man for commercial romance. It's a great song, and I think it works in commercials because it tells a brief story in just the chorus of the song (I think that possibly, maybe I'm falling for you). It's the way it's worded that makes it so appealing. It's like a modern day version of David Cassidy's "I Think I Love You" -- only Pigg seems a little more hesistant with his phrasing. But maybe that's just a part of the song's shy charm.
